Indochina Pure - Cruising Halong Bay <2009.10.01>

Here comes the highlight of every Vietnam trip – the picturesque Halong Bay. Just 4 hours east of Hanoi lies the UNESCO protected landscape of thousands lime stones in the protected Halong Bay.

We booked a 3 day trip which includes all highlights of this area.

Actually we were really lucky with the weather as this area was hit by a strong cyclone the days before and today is the first day that this area is open to tourism again.

We start our tour on a luxury junk boat where we sailed through the spectacular cliff scenery which we even explored closer than by kayaks. It was good that we invested some more bucks to get this exclusive package so we had always the best and private spots for us.

During kayaking we could even spot rare wild monkeys along the walls.

Next day we visited the “Amazing Cave” which fits it`s name really well. It`s just amazing – there are 3 incredible huge domes where the last one has the size of a train station main hall!

With the typical Halong Bay View we leave this place and set sail to the private island of Ocean beach where we had time to relax at the beach or paddle around the island to enjoy the sunset.

3 days went by too fast and are the minimum time you should spent here. We just scratched the surface, but what we saw was the typical

Indochina Dream
