Hanoi - The Loudest Capital on Earth <2009.09.29>

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Where are we now?! Both looking at each other, walking side by side but we can`t hear each other? Did you ever tried to stand in the middle of an autodrom (pump car circle) hoping not to get hit by anyone?

YES – that`s the feeling with you walk along the streets of Hanoi.

Millions of scooter driver, rickshaws, taxis and others on more than 1 wheel how want to be the fastest on the street. AND everyone is using his horn – it`s an incredible noise.

But once used to it you find out that in all that maze its quiet safe to co-exist – everyone is taking care the stronger one so you won`t got hit.

With this knowledge we now could start to explore the city. Compared to other city it might not have so many temples our tourist sites, but still enough to fill several days of sightseeing.

Here everything is about Ho Chi Minh. The avant-garde museum or his mausoleum where he you can see him still lying in his glass sarcophagi (closed from September – November for maintenance) …

But the city his more to offer – so we left the main roads and stroll along the back yards where you can find the real Hanoi.

The cultural highlight was the water puppet theater which has its origin from here and once replaced television or cinema some years ago – not so long you might think ;-)

Getting outta here
