Magnetic Island - Hang out with Koalas <2009.07.30>

Back from the OUTBACK!

The return from the bush led us via the caddle road straight to Townsville - the hub to Magnetic Island.

Named - as nearly everything around here - by James Cook in 1770 as he believed this island is influencing has compass.

To search for this reason we decided to go there by ourselves.
Jacqueline was in pole position, but sadly we were on a boat so we couldn`t defeat our position after we arrived ;-)

The first glimpse of Magnetic can already tell what you will find there:

... Beautiful beaches

... Breathtaking Lookouts

... Ocean Walks

... which makes you jump

or even fly!

Another highlight is to local cuddle bear - the Koala`s. Here you can easily spot them during your walk around the islands - aren`t they cute!

What a live - sleeping for 20hrs every day with such a view!

After a lunch at the beach we were ready to hit the waves - Boogey Board Time:

At the end of this day we can really say: This Island really ROCKs!

Conclusion: We wouldn`t call this place Magnetic - rather Magic Island ;-)
