Long time no hear or better read!
Finally I reached the places where no (mobile) signal is available and the infrastructure is back to basic. Endless farms & roads; bushfires instead of moaning the grass; nights out under the freezing bush sky & wild creatures in your backyard …
… here I am at the Kimberley`s!!!
They recently got famous again as the movie AUSTRALIA with Nicole Kidman & Hugh Jackman was played there.
Leaving the beach side city of Broome behind to visit Derby – famous for the huge prison boab tree – on the way to Fitzroy crossing, where Aboriginals stock up for cold months.
Derby itself is not a jewel, but it either leads you there for the first (but definitely not last) prison boab tree & an oversized water place for cattle or if you take the off-road track – to the famous Gibb River Road (sorry not for our Jacqueline ;-)

But it is definitely worth going there: having a refreshing swim at the crocodile free swim hole at “Grotto”, exploring field of boab trees, enjoying the sunset at the 5 River Look-out or check the latest deals for the recent real estate offers – worth a look …

Here you have the nature just in front of your door – like the 3km close Mirima NP (Hidden Valley) with it`s little version of the Bungles ...
